March 23, 2020

Dear New Vision Charter School Family,

We want to thank you for your patience and understanding during this national health crisis. We know how important your children’s education is to you, and we have been working for several days to make sure we have a plan to support their learning during this extended absence from our brick and mortar school.

In order to support you and your children with learning opportunities during the next week and a place to hold all of our information in regards to remote learning, we have prepared a website for you to access at https://remotelearning.newvisioncharterschool.org. This website will be your hub to access all of the remote learning information.

Knowing that not all families have computers at home, we have a plan to deploy Chromebooks to students and families that need them. We will also be distributing any medications that are still at school, as well as instruments. To ensure a safe and efficient process for checking out Chromebooks, please do the following:

  • Prior to arrival please complete the NVCS Emergency Chromebook Liability Form. This form indicates that you understand that the chromebook is on loan from New Vision Charter School and that you will adhere to the policies in the Student Technology Agreement. Chromebooks will not be loaned until the liability form is complete.

  • Arrive at the 4-8 Campus between 9:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 25.

  • Enter through the drive-through lane.

  • Write your child’s name and grade on a piece of paper in large letters so it can be seen through the car window from at least six feet away. Please indicate if you are picking up a Chromebook, medication, instrument or materials.

  • Chromebook identification numbers will be recorded and the device will be handed to you through the window.

  • DO NOT GET OUT OF THE CAR.

  • Chromebooks will be collected from students when school resumes.

  • This is the only time that we will be passing out Chromebooks.

Please refer to the Thompson School District Website, for information on food services during this time if you are in need.

Please continue to watch the New Vision Charter School website, Facebook, and your emails for additional updates.

With respect and support for you,

Mary Baker, Marian Hejl, Todd Bissell, Tim Bishop
